Okay, so I haven't knit a sweater yet, but I am getting closer. I just finished this shrug, knit in an 80s stripe pattern out of my scraps of cotton-ease yarn. I used a great pattern by Susan B. Anderson, one of my favorite designers. I'm planning to make a grey wool one for fall/winter, with longer sleeves. And, maybe, smaller sleeves. One problem with losing weight, is things you make might be too small before you even wear them!

Cutie Pie Thursday: More Animal Husbandry
Our wee cowpoke takes care of his horses--in the past he has offered them water and juice, and now he will give them a nice brushing, including both pairs of "ears."
And he can even rock a cowboy hat with a pair of plaid shants!

My First Shawl: Botany Kerchief
Botany Kerchief knit in 2 skeins of Manos del Uruguay Maxima, purchased on sale at My Sister Knits in Ft. Collins (my favorite yarn store!)
This one stuck. I finished and blocked it last night while watching LOTR extras.
I took it to the park this morning with Lincoln and I, and armed with my gorillapod tripod, photographed it in some beautiful overcast light. The colors are pretty accurate.
I really love the gentle effect of this space-dyed yarn, and how it pairs with the simple, leafy lace and reverse stockinette.
I look forward to wearing it this fall and winter, and I hope I won't look this grumpy while I'm wearing it. I think my timer caught me keeping an eye on my Lincoln!
